FAQs

Are your products guaranteed?

Yes, all of our products are fully guaranteed for 10 years.

My windows are unusual sizes, can you help?

All of our windows and doors are made from scratch in our factory in Sherborne, therefore there isn’t anything we cannot accommodate. Our customers are more than welcome to visit us and have a tour of the factory to see how their windows and doors are made.

I live in a conservation area, do you supply products that will meet planning regulations?

All of our PVC and aluminium windows and doors have been accepted in conservation areas, but this will depend on your individual council/building control officer. We are happy to provide samples and literature and will accompany our customers to any meetings where necessary.

I live in a listed building, can you supply windows that the planners will accept?

Our Residence 9 windows are a flush, fully mechanically jointed window, designed specifically to replicate timber. They have already been accepted in listed buildings, but this will depend on your individual council. We are happy to provide samples and literature and will accompany our customers to any council meetings where necessary.

What colour options do you have for windows and doors?

Our PVC windows are available in 26 colourways from stock, we can also source all renolit foils on extended lead times. Our aluminium products can be sprayed to match any RAL number.

I live on a busy road, can your windows reduce the noise from traffic?

Our windows and doors can take a number of different glass options up to 44mm thick to significantly reduce external noise.

How energy efficient are your windows?

Depending on what system you choose, our most energy efficient window will achieve a 0.9 uvalue. (A U-Value is measured as W/m2K. This means the amount of energy in watts that travels through one square metre of material, for every 1-degree difference in temperature between the inside and the outside.)

How energy efficient are your conservatories?

Depending on the thermal resistance of the building materials used, and the thickness of each layer, this forms the basis of the equation that enables the thermal conductivity of each layer to be calculated. When researching house extensions, bear in mind that the U-Values of a single glazed window with a wooden or PVC-U frame are generally higher than those of a solid brick wall or a standard 30 degrees pitched roof, therefore each case will be different and will also depend on which type of conservatory roof you choose.

House extensions that are insulated can benefit from U-values that are reduced by around two thirds, which is why so many homeowners are now deciding to insulate their cavity walls or get their loft insulated.

Do you offer security options with your windows and doors?

All of our windows and doors are fully PAS24 security certified.

Are your windows FENSA approved?

Yes, we are fully FENSA approved.

When can we visit your showroom?

Yes, our showroom is open from 9am-5pm Monday to Friday and any other time by appointment.
